In our consulting hours we receive many patients who suffer from respiratory problems (hampered respiration, bloody sputum etc). The most common symptoms are allergy sniffles, asthma (allergic, non-allergic, endurance indicated), chronic bronchitis or infections of the respiratory tract.

After recording a detailed history of the patient’s medical history and present complaints, we carry out a physical examination, if necessary with the aid of instruments.

For the so-called “allergy sniffle” an allergic skin test (prick test) is applied to ascertain the disease or to find the allergen which is causing the symptoms. An alternative is a check of the blood-specific IgE.

Blood oxygen levels can be assessed painlessly with a pulsoximeter (an instrument placed on the fingers).

A respiratory function examination (by Spirometry) can help to identify possible respiratory damage or to establish its the type and seriousness of this and we examine the patient’s reaction to medication.

To monitor CO, we measure the CO content of air as it is expired.

We offer help to patients to give up smoking with a nicotine-free therapy.

We are able to carry out both routine and special laboratory tests. (e.g. bacteria and virus serology, tumour markers to identify tumours at an early stage).

After assessing the diagnosis, the necessary medication will be planned according to the specialists’ advice; and prescriptions will be provided. We train patients in the use of any necessary inhalation tools, and we give life-style counselling.
