DERMATOLOGY

Treatment of acute and chronic dermatological disorders:

DERMATOSCOPY

We undertake checking for dermatological cancers (skin cancers) by dermatoscope. The examination is carried out by means of special hand instruments - dermatological optical units. These instruments are useful for the recognition of pigmented birthmarks, warts, benign and malignant tumours. The examination helps to screen changes which indicate pre-cancer conditions. With removal, the development of a malignant tumour may be prevented.

DIGITAL BIRTHMARK IMAGING

A digital dermatoscope enables a dermatologist to study the outer layers of skin and observe changes not otherwise visible to the human eye. The instrument makes it possible to give an immediate and accurate diagnosis and supports the system with data storage and micro- photography necessary for macroscopic body images necessary for regular checking.

The method is painless and the patient may follow the whole scanning process on screen where, by using elements of high resolution images of typical birthmark structures, their regularity or irregularity may be observed. All of these are useful tools in the fast and accurate evaluation of birthmarks. With repeated checks earlier and newer images are comparable, and so changes which develop in birthmarks are evident at an early stage.
In most cases an examination can decide those areas of skin which need surgical removal, those which should be checked regularly and those which clearly do not need removal. In cases where the image is unclear and a diagnosis has to be more precise, it is possible to use computer software to analyse any changes in the birthmark, using international standards and norms. Computer-based birthmark screening produces data 20% more accurate than any examination by the naked eye, and it is especially valuable in the early stages of melanoma, since early recognition makes it very possible to prevent more serious consequence. Digital dermatoscopes provide further options by preparing more images of birthmarks over many years so as to be able to recognise the smallest changes – totally invisible to the naked eye - which might indicate malignant developments. An initial examination takes some 35–40 minutes and later control examinations last about 20-30 minutes. We can, on request, prepare a CD of images relating to any changes - or prepare colour photographs.

CRYOTHERAPY

This treatment involves freezing with liquid nitrogen and is useful for dressing viral warts, old or sunlight freckles, certain benign tumours, scars and pre-tumour conditions.

RHYTIDECTOMY

This process is the latest treatment for wrinkles and furrows by the injection of hyaluronic acid. During the process hyaluronic acid—found in the skin normally—is injected through a very fine needle into the skin in the form of a crystal-clear gel. Hyaluronic acid removes wrinkles and furrows and makes the skin more tight and elastic - but in a natural way.
The effect may be felt immediately, but 7–10 days are needed to complete the process fully. Nasolabial furrows (those furrows between the nose and the mouth) and those at the eyebrows and around the eyes can be corrected by this technique. Dressing needs a little time, but we always ask for a prior consultation.

MESOTHERAPY

A specialised therapy carried out by means of microinjections administered through the skin. It contains natural materials which make the skin youthful and is useful for regenerating the skin in general and, in particular, for rejuvenating the skin on the face, neck, neckline and on the back of the hand. Treatment should be carried out over a period.
